6 Twin Cities spots to visit if you don't eat meat
If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or have any food sensitivities you know how much of a struggle it can be to find a place to eat out. Here are a few of my favorites for the next time you find yourself asking, “where do you want to eat?”
With multiple locations, this place is the perfect spot to visit with your meat-eating friends. The menu has something for everyone with clearly marked menu options for our vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free eaters. If you partake in cheese, the bavarian pretzels with gouda cheese dip is a must!
If you find yourself missing cold cuts and a good old sandwich, check out this completely vegan market with meat-free meats to satisfy every craving! Grab some vegan ribs and brats for takeout and have yourself a good old-fashioned picnic at a park. (You know, if it’s summer.)
Do yourself a favor and get some cauliflower wings with honey hot sauce, you will be thanking me! The plant-based nugs with Papo BBQ will have you second-guessing why you ever ate chicken to begin with. My suggestion? Grab some friends and get a variety of dishes and sauces so you can try it all and support a local, black-owned business.
Seed Cafe
This plant-based restaurant is packed with a tasty assortment of breakfast bowls, smoothies (try the Rock Me Mama), street tacos and more. On top of that, they use compostable containers for take-out orders and offer their employees unlimited yoga classes for mental and physical well-being.
Your new home for vegan soul food. The first vegan, black-owned restaurant in Minneapolis has an owner with an incredible story. The menu has every comfort food you could ask for, from burgers to soul food classics like collard greens and maple butter cornbread. Okay, now I’m drooling. They even have a kids menu for your tiny plant eaters!
If you have a sweet tooth that needs curing, or a significant other who needs convincing that vegan baking IS delicious, this is the place for you. They have other things too, but do you really need anything besides carrot cake and cinnamon rolls?
