Beautifully You (Sophia’s Song)

This poem in memory of our Sophia.

——————————————————

All the fights you fought
All the battles you won and some of them lost
How every lovely day and every long night
In the end faded away

All the lives you touched
All the love you spent and some never came back
How every lesson learned and every bridge burned
Gave you a sense of faith

All those days in the sun
All the rain that fell and fed the ground
How every note you could sing and word breathed
Was a gift to me

All the light in your eyes
All the passion inside that made the world so bright
How every soul on earth had such worth to you
And how you spoke the truth

Never in my life have I known someone that words can’t describe
You were a risk taker, a smile maker and a joy to behold
Never once did I ever think that I would have to say goodbye
You were a fierce friend and right up to the end just so beautifully you

All my memories of you
All my love for you
Still beats true
How my heart will ache
And long to reach the day
When I see your face again

You will live on inside the dreams and things you have to leave behind
And not a day goes by that I don’t think how I could do it again
I’d do it all again with you
I’d do it all again for you
